Solo Like Slash |

Of all the guitar players out there I would be willing to bet that one of the most sought after playing style is that of Slash. First of all, he is not just a shred player who attempts to play faster than a guitarist with 12 fingers. Slash carefully chooses his notes while adding unique bends and an almost endless array of rhthym changes.
Also, unlike other contemporary guitar masters, Slash went against the grain and uses a Gibson Les Paul (taking a cue from Blues inspired players) which further makes his tone completely unique.
What I like best about Slash's playing is that it is so unique and distinctive that it is extremely challenging to emulate his sound with any accuracy.
In any event, I suggest listening carefully and dissecting some of his famous Guns N' Roses work to grasp his awesome bending technique. If you start by copying his work and really attempt to pull off his solos, you will pick up some great tricks along the way.
