I am primarily a Fender lover and therefore have had my fair share of Strats under my nails. When I examine a certain model of Strat I look for craftsmanship, style, and overall sound quality.
The Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS (Fat Strat) is regarded by many as one of the most popular Fenders in the world.
For only around $400-500 bucks (depending on your configuration) you will get a Fender that does play fairly well. I am not going to lie to you and say that this guitar plays as well as some of the higher end Fender Strats (like the Reissue), the action and overall punch of the 5 position selector switches is lacking. Enjoy!
