This bass rocks! From a visual look alone, I suggest that anyone who is interested in grabbing a distinctive and unique looking bass guitar that actually plays incredibly well, look no further than the Rickenbacker 4003. This guitar has quickly emerged as one of the hottest selling bass guitars on the planet. Let's see why:
First of all, you cannot find many bass guitars that actually have a nice level of binding around the body. It is small touches like that which make this guitar truly distinguished. When playing the instrument, the first thing that I noticed was that the action was incredible for a bass guitar. I am normal a regular six string electric guitar player and found that with the bass I could do similar solos with relative ease. Next, I check the sustain of the notes and played from frets 5-15. My discoveries were that this guitar has rich, singing sustain through all the registers and sounded so good that I think my hack bass playing actually improved!!
Other nice touches include deluxe triangular inlays, stereo output, neck-thru-body construction, double truss rods, and high output single-coil pickups. Again, this bass retails for around 2 grand and in my opinion is worth every penny.
