The Shure E2C In-Ear Monitor Earphones are designed to provide high quality audio with a small and portable size which also isolate extrinsic sound from entering the ear.
Many people regard the Shure series of Ear Monitors as some of the best in the industry for high audio fidelity. I wanted to give them a shot.
Features: Without going into too many technical terms, the electronics in the E2C headphones are Gold-Plated with Full-range dynamic transducers. All that technical jargon means GREAT SOUNDS! See the full list of specs below if you are technically based.
Likes: The sound was pretty darn rich and I must say that I thought at first glance comfort would be lacking with these headphones but they actualy feel pretty soft in the ear canal. Next, I was also very surprised at just how much low end (Bass) comes through. They are 1000x better than iPod Earbuds and after a few minutes of listening, it will be hard to go back to those crappy earbuds. The noise cancellation works well and makes for a richer experience. While I did not get a chance to demo these while in an airplane I can image a pretty relaxing flight with a pair of these.
Dislikes: The ear canal pieces which come with the E2C could be improved. I think it is absolutely critical for your sound and comfort that you find a good tight fit. It did take me a few tries to find the right ear canal piece. I am also not a fan of the see-through plastic around the headphones themselves. I would be happier with solid black for a sleeker look.
Price: The E2C's retail for about $99 dollars
Overall: For the money you cannot beat the sound quality of these E2C's. I think that the pros definately outweight the cons with these headphones. Overall very useful and enjoyable product that is built to last.
