Review: Line 6 Spider III 15 Watt Amp |

A few weeks ago I praised the Line 6 Spider III 75 watt amp for its solid price/performance and today I continue that trend with the 15 watt version of this amp.
Let me start by saying that this is perhaps my most favorite lil' practice amp ever. At $99 bucks you will be scratching your ears wondering where all of this solid distortion (and yes, even clean tone) is coming from. As for features, the Spider III 15 Watt amp has four amp channel models (Clean, Crunch, Metal, Insane) and 6 built in effects (reverb, chorus/flanger, phaser, sweep echo, tape echo).
For $99 dollars these features rival much more expensive models and for a beginner I see no better way to enter your music career exploring new sounds with this amp. The only limitation that I see is that you can only select two different effects simultaneously. At this price I no doubt have no right to complain about this but what the hell, it still bothers me. I think that overall, these features make this amp a valuable additional to anyone's practice rig.

Amp Models:
Clean: Red LED - Select this Amp Model and adjust the tone controls to get crisp, amazing clean sounds, great warm jazz tones, and all the high-end shimmer you'll need with a generous amount of bottom end.
Crunch: Red LED - This sound was crafted during Line 6's studies* of the '68 Marshall© Plexi 50 Watt. This type of Marshall© amp was used by a number of early metal bands. Crunch provides a wider range of tone control settings than the original Marshall© amp had.
Metal: Red LED - This Amp Model is based on* the Mesa/Boogie© Dual Rectifier©. Use this Amp Model to get a tight and punchy, high gain Metal sound.
Insane: Red LED - This model is Line 6's "dialed in for shredding" version based on* the Mesa/Boogie© Dual Rectifier© red channel. It combines the intensity and impact of Metal Red, but delivers more midrange and teeth for that bone-crushing, brain piercing insane grind.
