Review: Yamaha F-325 Acoustic Guitar

March 26th, 2008 | Acoustic Guitars

Ron Ganella

In terms of playability and value, I don't see how a person can go wrong with the Yamaha F-325 Acoustic.

Of course, if you are a seasoned player used to using Martins I think that this guitar is not gonna' cut it.  However, for the rest of us I like to evaluate an acoustic guitar in terms of action, tone, and overall playability.  The Yamaha F-325 aces all of these areas.

Basically it comes in three different configurations:  the F-325 by itself for just $139.99, in the Yamaha GigMaker Pack (F-325 with gig bag, lesson DVD, digital tuner, strings, strap, etc.) for just $149.99 or the F-325 with a rugged hard shell case for only $179.99.

Obviously I review of ton of guitars on this site.  However, I like to focus on instruments of all prices and levels.  In terms of a beginner's acoustic guitar package, the F-325 is rock solid.  I would suggest buying a hardshell case with this guitar if possible.  It is made with die-cast chrome tuners and a spruce top for good sound.

    Hello, Ron!

    First, I’m sorry but I don’t speak/write english very well. I’m a brazilian!

I’m a beginner and I want to know which of them you would suggest to purchase in terms of action, tone, and overall playability:

    Yamaha FX-370C, Ibanez V70CE (acoustic-eletric) or Yamaha F-325 (acoustic)?

    Thanks a lot!
