Review: Fender Classics Series Volume and Tone Pedal

February 29th, 2008 | Mixers

Fender has done something pretty original with this volume pedal that is worth mentioning.

Check out the controls: Volume Control Tilt - the Pedal Back and Forth.  Tone Control -Rotate the Pedal Left and Right.  Essentially, the pedal moves left and right on a sort of swivel basis.

While this may sound weird to you, believe me, it has a ton of functionality which gives your live sound much versatility.  Instead of having to use your tone knobs on the guitar itself, imagine being able to tweak your sound with your foot.  Basically, I find that instant tone control is essential for any lead guitar player.

As with any gig, you want your electric lead tone to shine through the mix.  This is often times hard to do with tons of other instruments playing at the same time.  Additionally, you are able to dynamically alter your rhythm guitar tone throughout a set to keep your songs sounding fresh.

Overall, the Fender Classics Series Volume and Tone Pedal is definately a good solution if you are already looking for a volume pedal and want something different.
