Boss RE-20 Space Echo Review: Classic Analogue Sounding Goodness! |
|---|
October 4th, 2007 | Guitar Effects/Pedals |
A few minutes after I anxiously ripped this sucker out of the box, I was up and running wild with Boss's new Tape Echo effect pedal.
First off, this thing is no rinky-dink toy, this sucker has as much power and flexibility as any rack mounted delay board I have used. What you will first notice about the RE-20 is the almost scary reproduction of the original tape flutter and head saturation which accompanies analogue tape machines.

This cat plays a nice little jam and shows off the authenticity of the Space Echo quite nicely. Perhaps this is the sound you are going for...
You can control the amount of delay with a quick tap of the foot and you are good to go. If you crave a delay pedal that will make you stand out and adds some colorful flavor above and beyond a conventional delay pedal, the Boss RE-20 may be for you. A welcome addition to any rig.
