Fender Princeton 65 Reverb Amp: Review
The Fender Princeton 65 Reverb Amp caught my attention when I learned that it was ALL TUBE. Basically, I have been a fan of Fender amps ever since I purchased the Fender Twin Tube which I use live and in the studio for some of the warmest clean rhythm electric tones money can buy. Basically, I find that Fender tube amps are some of the best in the industry. If you are looking for an amp that has explosive distortion, however, please look somewhere else. This guitar is best suited to clean application. While it is definitely possible to hook up some good quality distortion effects, I rely on switching to other amps for that.
I must say, for a smaller amp, the Fender Princeton 65 Reverb Amp certainly packs a mean punch. If you are looking for a smaller version of a classic I would strongly suggest this. It is well suited for smaller gigs (coffee shops, small clubs) rather than larger venues (where 100Watts would be almost required). Find this sucker at your local music store and try it out for yourself. Fender definitely heard my criticism that smaller amps so often are left without tube construction. The Fender Princeton 65 Reverb Amp answers with brilliance.
