Review: M-Audio Fast Track Pro
For the casual player looking to break into the glorious world of digital recording the M-Audio line of audio input devices has quickly become one of the most popular recording products around.
Retailing initially for almost $300 (you can now find it online for about $150) the M-Audio Fast Track Pro is a fully featured device that features two combo phantom powered inputs in the front of the unit. What we like about the Fast track is that it has lots of knobs and lights on the front side. Basically the lights indicate clip and phantom power.
As for the reverse side you will find ample connection options for midi in and out and connections to your monitors. M-Audio also included a connection to lock the device to any laptop lock as well.
All in all the M-Audio offers fantastic 24 bit recording that can work with any popular recording software, including Pro Tools and Cakewalk.
