I give the new Ibanez Weeping Demon Wah pedal credit for first creating a cool name for their wah. Let's face it- the wah market is a pretty saturated one and of all the different types of effects, the wah is probably the effect that has evolved the least over time. Digital delays have gotten longer, distortions growl more, yet wah pedals do little more than when originally invented in the 1960's.
The Weeping Demon from Ibanez may not be a game changer but it has a pretty good quality tone for the money ($100). The Weeping Demon features fully controllable wah perameters you are used to but packaged in one truly gothic looking stomp box. This thing looks like a prop from the set of Bill & Teds Excellent Adventure. As for sound, I find that it has a dirtier tonal quality that a straight ip Dunlop Cry Baby. Using a Fender Strat and my Matshall JCM2000 TSL, I found that the Weeping Demon sounds best when laced with some thick lead. I was able to get some Slash like guitar tones. All in all a very good wah pedal for the price.
