Review: Ovation iDea Acoustic-Electric Guitar
Ovation has been a trend setter in redefining what a modern acoustic electric guitar can be. They did this with their all plastic backings and continue breaking new ground with the iDea Acoustic Electric.
This guitar actually has an inboard digital recorder which uses the internal mic components to record full songs for later export via simple USB 2.0 output. The standard recording controls are very well laid out on the top of the acoustic for east access. The bright light blue LED display is effective even in low light conditions. One problem that occurs however is powering this device. In early testings it appears as if you may be changing batteries very often.
Retailing for under $600, the iDea Acoustic Electric will allow for song drafting and composition right from your guitar. This ships with backing tracks for practice as well. The guitar includes headphone output to allow for instant playback of your recordings.
