Review: ISP Decimator Noise Reduction Pedal
The ISP noise reduction digital effect pedal is designed from the ground up to provide a cleaner, more responsive sounding noise reduction pedal. The flaw with some noise reduction pedals is that while they do an excellent job of silencing gross sounds, they kill many subtle notes and light picking.
The ISP Decimator uses a novel Time Vector approach which attempts to allow for light and soft picking to not get lost below an artificial envelope filter.
Retailing around $130, the ISP appears to be marketed towards mid level players looking for a pro sounding effect.
It is yet to be determined whether this pedal would have any good applications in the recording realm. As you are aware, when some pedal effects are recorded, they sound less pro than rack mounted boards costing much more. For this reason I likely doubt it is a good recording companion.
