Wow, just when you think Apple have created a perfect piece of software, the come around and create an almost viral mechanism fir downloading fresh application. The new App Store, available on the PC through itunes and a part of the iPhone/ iPod Touch software update, is nothing short of amazing. At launch the store had only around 480 applications, and by now there is already close to 1000 of them.
What makes the App Store work so well is the fact that so many of the applications are free. I think that this appeals to a huge number of people. On terms of software sales, Apple has given developers a completely new way of generating new sales which should spur some fantastic apps down the line.
