Good heaphones for studio useage must be different than your regular headphones for generally listening to music. Essentially, a studio master would tell you that a good pair of reference monitor headphones need to push clear sound that is not at all altered or colored in the least.
Let's face it, the whole point of using these is to be able to destinguish good and bad sound while recording. Retailing for around $99 bucks, the Sennheiser HD280 Pro Closed-Back Headphones are a pretty solid solution.
