If you are looking for a low cost but good sounding practice amp, the Fender G-DEC practice amps have a solid reputation as a well rounded and quality practice amp worthy of mention.
I don't know about you but the sound of my amp greatly affects the quality of my playing. At 30 watts of power, the Fender G-DEC has surprisingly clear and loud tone, with everything from warm cleans to rich and screaming distortion. I also recommend this amp for a newer guitarist who has yet to delve into digital effects.
One of the greatest reasons to buy this amp is for all of the effects. There are 17 amp emulations as well as 29 individual effects! There is simply too much of a great thing going on here- midi input, iPod and cd inputs, and that warm Fender tone.
