Retailing for only $69.95, the Surround Xi is a stylish companion dock speaker system for your iPod.
As you can see from the pics it was clearly meant to match Apple's unique sense of style (see below).
I have to say, I did not expect this item to sound very good. First of all, the design of the stereo speakers at each end of the tube never gave me true stereo feeling. I had the sense of mono audio and had to move my player around until it sounded good.
Also, there was a lack of low end in the sound itself. I'm not saying it was terrible sounding, just not up to the standards of some of the other dock units we are seeing. That being said, this item retails for only a fraction of the cost so what can you really expect.
Overall a fun looking gift for a sibling that will look cool in a form room but not for the audiophile.
