Review: Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s Neck
I must say, the 1960's were a period of freedom and growth in rock and roll. The Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s Neck Electric Guitar is essentially a reflection of that change.
If you are wonding what the big deal about the neck of the 60's Les Paul is, let me answer it here. The Gibson Les Paul Standard 60's neck is designed for speed and to compete with other smaller necked guitars. The traditional Gibson neck is wider and thicker than their 60's style. Personally having played both extensively, I think that the Gibson Les Paul's 60's neck is more my style. It just feels more contemporary. If you are a hardcore blues or jazz player, I would suggest checking out the standard Gibson Les Paul necks or even hollow bodied Gibson guitars.
As for features, you will find a full maple top and the rest of this guitar is composed of high quality mahogany. If you are concerned about weight I will tell you that this guitar, compared to other Gibson's, is not all that heavy. This is in part due to the fact that it has a chambered body inside. None of this in my opinion effects the sound of this Les Paul in the least.
In fact, you may find this guitar is the best sounding electric you have ever played. Burstbucker Pro's round out the sound.
