Review: Line 6 GearBox Plug In Silver Bundle
For $99 bucks Line 6 has produced another fun winner. The Gearbox Plug in Silver Bundle is incredibly powerful, afforable, and just plain fun.
If you own a decent desktop ( or even laptop) I would suggest buying this if you have contemplating some type of recording solution. With the included software, this unit becomes a pretty powerful recording and editing solution.
Included in the Line 6 Gearbox package is the hardware USB interface (the TonePort DI), gearbox plug in software which was designed to give you a tone of Line 6 quality effects. In total you will find around 18 amp models, 24 cabs, 26 stomp box quality effects, and an assortment of mic emulations and even some bass effects as well. Line 6 does a great job giving quality effects at a good price.
Big tip with this item: you are essentially buying a power DI unit solution for plugging your guitar into your computer. The hardware is completely compatible with other recording and effect software (such as Protools), thus if you are looking for an alternate Mbox, this is it. You will not receive any mic inputs with this hardware toneport
however, something the Mbox series does very well.
