OK, every band on the planet should have their own PA System. There is no way around it. Having your own PA will actually pay for itself over time because it will allow you to play gigs not normally accessible to you.
STAGEPAS is a newer entry into the already cluttered PA market but for the price, overall performance, and list of features, the PAS300 is well worth the money. Included with the system is a pair of some decent 2-way speakers (passive) that both have built-in powered mixing.
After a quick setup, I checked some quick songs using a connected Shure SM-57. The vocals were loud, bright, and did not rattle or distort even at higher volumes. I find that the 2 band EQ was decent and allowed for a moderate amount of tweaking to be done to the sound.
One advanced feature you will find with the Stagepas PA300 is built in reverb. I found that by using subtle amounts on my vocal channel, the overall sound became even more powerful. This feature is key for making smaller venue sound larger and more professional. Comes in 150-watt 2x8" configurations. Nice compliment for a gigging band who wants something lightweight but also affordable.
