Review: Propellerhead REASON 4.0 Music Production Software

February 5th, 2008 | Music News

Ron Ganella

Just got the specs on the new version of Propellerhead's very popular line of REASON music production software.

The big differences here, it appears, are

1) you are going to need a slightly more powerful computer
2) you get faster and more reliable software
3) and more sounds than you could shake a musical stick at.

While I do love this package, beware: I think that the sounds you get from this software (and this is only my rock opinion) are more geared towards DJ's or hip hop applications than more general production software. The beats sound expensive and amazing, but often sound like Jay Z just laced them for ya. Reason 4 will not let you down.
