Wow, every once in a while a company has a pretty cool idea on their hands. Enter the Vox amPlug AC30 Headphone Amp. The purpose of this device is to allow any guitarist to practice and jam without having to plug into an amp or other device.
Think of this thing as the bridge between your electric guitar and your headphones. What I like about this concept is that it seems incredibly useful. No longer will you have to boot up a computer, stand alone recorder, or some other type of input device in order to get some rocking sounds through your headphones. (review continued below...)

How will the amPlug sound? I certainly do not expect true full Vox amp sound but am hopeful that the AC30 amPlug will deliver enough crunch for me to practice soling happily. Vox tells me that they have tried to reproduce the warm and natural tones of their popular amp lines with the AC30. Only time will tell if this is true. Expect 15 hours of battery use.
I am happy to tell you that their is an AUX in port on the amPlug. Essentially, you can now jam along to your MP3 player, CD, or other input source. For around $40, this thing will be a happy addition to my guitar case.
