MXR M101 PHASE 90 PHASER Review & Video: Creamy Butter Churner!
At long last - one of my favorite and most used pedals of all time! The MXR Phase 90 Phaser, like some of my other prized pedals, it's nothing new.
However, this pedal has achieved legendary status for some of the creamiest and warm sounding phaser effects of all time.
This simple, orange colored pedal with only one knob provides huge sweeping and swelling effects which are perfect for all different types of music. Physically speaking, the MXR Phase 90 is constructed out of seemingly bullet proof steel which would probably support the weight of a large elephant. One drawback to this pedal is that if you want to replace the battery be sure to have a screwdriver handy as you cannot access the compartment without one.

Some people claim that a truly vintage MXR Phase pedal sounds much better than a newly manufactured one. Having used both extensively, I've noticed a few things. The older models do seem to have more of a thicker, almost warmer tone to them. That being said, the original pedals are alxo much noisier than the newer ones. My advice- buy new. An AC adapter is also included in the box. For around $99 this pedal will do wonders to your sound.

In a live setting, I find that with full distortion cranked up, a little MXR Phaser will make my solos leap out of my amp and smack a listener in the face like nothing else. Get this pedal!
