If you are somewhat familiar with Line 6 guitar pedals and effects then you already know the company has a knack for delivering incredible sounding amp modelers. The POD X3 Live is chock full of 78 different amp models which capture classic, vintage, and modern sounds to a 'T'. These sound incredible. I am a big fan of the clean and warm sound of a Fender Twin Tube amp. The Pod X3 Live faithfully recreates this very classic sound.
Just like the name implies, the POD X3 Live is optimized for live performance - which I why I love it. It has 98 different stompbox effects. 98 different effects!!! And they actually sound...great! If you were to buy these pedals separately you would easily spend thousands of dollars. If you can think of an effect in your mind, the Pod X3 Live will be able to deliver it. Imagine the flexibility on stage...

Another incredible feature is the ability to split your guitar signal and send the output to two different amps. It replaces the need for a separate A/B box! You can dominate a live venue if you know how to take advantage of that feature.
As far as controlling your sound, the built in expression pedal allows you to smoothly transfer tones, control volume and wah. The POD X3 Live also has plenty of input and output options as well. You can plug two guitars into this device at once using standard 1/4" jacks. It also accepts XLR microphone inputs and has stereo headphone outputs for silent practicing. You can plug the POD X3 Live directly into a PA or computer (yep, USB 2.0 of course) Bottom line: if you are looking for power and versatility, The Pod X3 Live is one of the best multi effects processors I have ever used. No wonder why it's a best seller. Do yourself a favor and pick this thing up - your bandmates may actually start to like you!

Except for the fact that I would have to trust a sound engineer with my sound I would replace my amps with this thing. As it is it is now only replacing the effects rack.
